I want to start with a confession.
For 30 years I worked in technology, and for most of that time I made a mistake. I talked to engineers. Product managers. Executives. People who already understood how technology worked and just needed me to help them build more of it.
That changes now.
Artificial Intelligence, or AI is not a technology story anymore. It is a human story. And it is happening to everyone, whether they signed up for it or not. Your doctor is using it. Your bank is using it. Your kid's teacher is thinking about using it. The question is not whether AI is going to affect your life. It already is.
What most people are missing is someone to explain it the way a knowledgeable friend would. Not with jargon. Not with breathless hype or apocalyptic warnings. Just honest, plain English from someone who has been inside this world for a long time.
That is what Tomorrow, Explained is for.
Every Thursday morning I am going to pick one thing happening in AI that matters for real people, and I am going to tell you exactly what it is, why it matters, and what to think about it. No PhD required. No prior tech knowledge needed. Just curiosity.
I have spent 30 years helping build products at Apple, Cisco, and Salesforce. I have given keynotes to rooms full of doctors and executives in more than 20 countries. I have been on ABC News, Fox News, and BBC television talking about where technology is heading. Heck, I was even in a documentary talking about my former boss, Steve Jobs, and even have an IMDB entry I never thought I'd have.
But the moments I am most proud of is when someone walks up after a talk and says "I finally get it." Or when a neighbor asks me for advice where I can help them through their tech issue. Or after I learn something new that I simply must share with others because I know it will soon impact their lives. That is what I am chasing with this newsletter.
You are going to hear about AI doing things that surprise you. Some of it will make you smile. Some of it will make you think. Some will be anxious about what it means for their future. I promise that what I will share here will help you feel a little more at home in a world that is changing faster than any of us expected.
See you Thursday.
Steve
P.S. Know someone who has been feeling overwhelmed by all the AI news? Forward this to them. They are exactly who I am writing for
P.P.S. Yes, AI and I worked together on this article. That's our future, and I need to know what it can and can't do so I can share the truth with you.
